A Perfect Start for a Perfect Day

A girl, meals, and a clock

What’s your morning routine like? The answer to this question might explain why you feel so stressed and exhausted in the evening. To have the energy to face any challenge life throws your way you need to start the day in the right manner. Today we offer you some tips that will help you do just that:

  • Get enough sleep.
Makeup can hide dark circles under your eyes and give a healthy color to your skin. However, this is but a trick that will not change the fact that you aren’t anywhere near the top of your energy levels. Sleep deprivation is extremely dangerous. It does not only have a profound detrimental effect on your overall health. When your mind is exhausted, it starts to “slip”, which can lead to accidents.

You must have enough sleep to let your body recharge its batteries and face the new day head on. Each person is unique, so take some time to determine how many hours of rest you really need to feel healthy and energized in the morning. Plan your days to ensure that you have the time to get a sufficient amount of sleep.
  • Meditate for 10 minutes.
10 minutes of light meditation is all you need to get your mind in gear to face the day. This practice will improve your cognitive ability and memory. Meditating on a regular basis will teach you how to focus and wield your brainpower in the most efficient manner.

For a light morning meditation you will need to sit down in a comfortable position and focus on your breathing. Keep your mind locked in the present moment. Discard any thoughts of the future or past and just “go blank” for 10 minutes. Simple, right? Try it every morning and you will feel the difference in 2-3 days.
  • Do a light morning workout.
Even if you don’t have the time for a thorough workout or plan to go to a gym during the day, you should exercise for a few minutes every morning. Basic stretches or 15 minutes of simple yoga will get your blood flowing. This will ensure that every part of your body is wide awake and energized. Exercising is the most efficient “wake up” tool on a rainy morning.
  • Charge your body with a healthy breakfast.
People who say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day definitely have a point. In order to start your day in the most efficient manner, you will need energy, so you have to eat the foods which will provide you with it. Technically, anything with calories can fuel your body, but the type and quality of the foods you consume matter greatly. If you want to be a healthy person, you need to eat healthy. A good breakfast should include nuts, fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, low fat yogurts, or oatmeal. A meal that consists of a combination of these ingredients will provide you with a boost of energy that will support your body for hours.
  • Find your inspiration for the day.
This is a very important step that you really shouldn’t miss, no matter how insignificant it may seem to you now. If you get a boost of inspiration first thing in the morning, you will be much more positive during the day. This is especially important to the people who have creative jobs. How to find this inspiration is the question you need to answer yourself. For some it’s seeing a beloved painting, for others – listening to a special song. Find something that gives you this special “spark” and you’ll see how such a tiny thing can affect your disposition for the day.

Organization Is the Key

The biggest problem that we all face in the morning is the lack of time. There are so many things that need to be done, and only a few minutes to do them. If you want to start your day right, you need to learn how to plan it. Work on your schedule until you clear enough time to complete your morning routine properly. The more you practice, the less time you will waste on procrastination. You’ll be amazed at how much more efficient you can get with a few simple changes.
