Beauty Pack for Traveling

A bag with things for the trip

If you travel a lot you know how inconvenient it might be to try and pack all the beauty products you need to look perfect while on a trip. In the vast majority of cases one is forced to compromise as space inside your bags is limited and all the things you need just won’t fit.

However, we believe that a girl’s beauty shouldn’t have to suffer because magically expanding bags are yet to be invented. We understand how important consistency is for a beauty routine and today we’ll share our experiences and packing tips that will ensure you can look stunning during your travels.

The tips we offer today are designed specifically for packing your carry-on bag while traveling by plane as this particular form of travel presents more challenges luggage-wise. You should always try to fit your beauty essentials in the carry-on as this way you can be sure that they won’t get lost as it so often happens with the bags you check into luggage. However, there are quite a few security restrictions you need to keep in mind when packing cosmetic products.

  • All liquids you bring aboard a plane must fit a 1-quart zip-top bag.
According to the security rules, all individual containers must be under 3.4 ounces. It might be possible to get away with a bigger container if the security officer is lenient, but you shouldn’t risk it as your precious product might get tossed.
  • Pack away grooming items in your checked luggage.
Scissors, tweezers, razors, and other similar items might be allowed through security, but there is no guarantee that you will be able to get away with this. Therefore, it’s safer not to put them into your carry-on by default. If you absolutely must do this, pack that single item you need and hope for the best. Quite often, the amount of leeway you are granted depends directly on the security agent checking your bag. Some of them are understanding but quite a few stick to the rules.
  • Don’t take original containers with you.
You can downsize your beauty arsenal by transferring small amounts of products to specialized travel containers. Of course, creams and serums must be kept in their original packaging, but you definitely should use this method when dealing with your shampoo, body wash, conditioner, and cleanser. You should also think about transferring your hair styling products to smaller containers or buying a special miniature travel set to take with you.

  • Cut down on makeup.
Think long and hard about which makeup products you will really need while away. This might be a difficult thing to do as some of us are used to our palettes that it seems inconceivable to leave anything behind. We suggest you consider the clothes you take with you and choose makeup colors that fit them. It would be great to have a miniature travel set of makeup brushes that you can easily fit into your carry-on.
  • Use multitasking products whenever possible.
You can pack Perfection Tinted Moisturizer SPF30 from PureLx instead of three containers (moisturizer, foundation, and sunscreen). We also suggest packing bronzing powder that can replace contour powder and blush. If your space is really limited, take one shade of matte eye shadow that can act as an eye shadow and eyeliner (when wet).
  • Use what you can from the hotel toiletries.
Of course, the quality of the products on offer will depend on the hotel. Luckily, many hotels today provide shampoos and body washes you can use without risk of damaging your skin and hair. However, you shouldn’t risk using facial-care products as the vast majority of them are poorly formulated.
